Fig. 10. Protective effects of ARO on pulmonary inflammation in an experimental model of ALI. ARO Pretreatment negatively regulates the inflammatory response in LPS-stimulated epithelial cells. Furthermore, ARO administration inhibits macrophage influx, cytokine formation, and iNOS/COX-2 expression and upregulates HO-1/NQO1 expression in LPS-induced ALI mice. These effects of ARO in vitro and in vivo are accompanied by an inhibitory ability on NF-κB activation. ARO stands for aromadendrin.
